Three Words In Health To NEVER Put Together

Health is so much more than just food. I am so fascinated by all the non physical aspects of wellbeing (the elements outside of eating and physical fitness). Studies show that our emotional health, the power of thought and stress levels play such a huge role in our lives and yes definitely, have a huge effect on us physically. From adrenalin spiking to becoming more susceptible to viruses we can really benefit from having mindfulness in our thoughts, words and attitudes towards ourselves. So what on earth has this got to do with Taylor Swift? Continue reading

Jam Drops

These biscuits remind me of my Gran. When I was younger I used to stay with her during the week because it was closer to my school and she always just let me run riot in her kitchen. I would be experimenting and making such a mess and she was always so perfectly patient with me and of course she always loved everything I made! (I’m sure there were many a dodgy creation!) She was English and I know she would have loved these biscuits. I can credit her for largely developing my love of food and cooking. This recipe is dedicated with gratefulness to her ♥ Continue reading

Probiotic Hummus

I had so much fun creating this recipe for so many reasons. Firstly dips are so yummy! They are also great to encourage healthy little dip partners – for example vegie sticks (crudites) or Grain Free Crackers. This recipe is a great introduction to some exotic flavours for young ones too, with the addition of ground cumin adding a twist to extend young palates. Lastly the addition of some probiotics will support gut health and immunity. Continue reading

Zucchini, Herb & Turkey Meatballs

One of my favourite lunchbox tips is to use some of the leftover dinner from the night before. So really this recipe can be used to make a dinner with some put aside for the next day, OR you can make a batch, cook and then portion into lots of 5 or 6 meatballs to keep in the freezer ready for lunches. Easy peasy! They are really tasty (morish actually) and have all the benefits of vegies, herbs and protein to fuel growing minds and bodies. Continue reading

Grain Free Crackers

Don’t be fooled by how hard (or fiddly) making crackers might seem –  these are honestly really easy to make. I usually make a batch of these on a Sunday and they well and truly last us the whole week. That’s for the 4 of us, lunchboxes and all! These are also great for entertaining, your guests will love them and they are just perfect for platters. Continue reading

Gut Healing Gummies

I really love this recipe. I mean realllllly love it. We’ve been having gummies for about two years now and haven’t looked back. The kids absolutely love them, they’re so versatile in the flavours you can make and they are super easy to make a batch that you can have on hand for the week (if they last that long!) We always have a batch in the fridge for a yummy, gut nourishing treat. Continue reading
