This is another recipe that has stood the test of time with our family. When we started the gut healing GAPS Protocol a couple of years ago as treatment for my eldest who has Autism I tried sooo many pancake recipes. Ah the fails!! It actually tipped me over at one point early on in the protocol, scraping another wasted batch of sticking, crappy, crumbly pancake fail into the bin. That crumbly pancake mix wasn’t just a bunch of ingredients that didn’t work out – it was my time, my dollars, it was my love for my family, food has always been a way I express my love. So let me save you the heartache with this awesome, truly tried and many times tested recipe! Continue reading

Cashew Dressing (Vegan Mayonnaise)
Don’t get me wrong, I like eggs, but sometimes I feel like something lighter and I also have loads of egg-free and vegan friends. This recipe is a simple one to make, just blending and no worrying about eggs splitting or the end result failing. It’s a perfect balance of creamy, lemony, salty and tang. Continue reading
Roast Pumpkin & Haloumi Fritters
One for the savoury files, this recipe is soo easy. Minimum effort yeilds delicious results – everything gets thrown into one bowl, mixed and then cooked. These fritters are super versatile too, they are great for lunchboxes (they rock as leftovers!), awesome for brunch, lunch or dinner (try with a big serve of yummy rocket leaves on the side, also super quick) and they are perfect for entertaining, you can even halve the size you cook to teaspoon size for the cutest little canapes! Raw Tamari Zoodles
I’m usually driven with meals with what we have on hand and what is cheap and in season at the time. I think by now everyone knows I’m usually meal planning flying by the seat of my pants making meals for my three beautiful kids. I think you will love this recipe – it takes just a couple of minutes to make, it’s easy, it’s cheap and it’s so fresh, nourishing and detoxifying. Continue reading
Blueberry Friands
I seem to make all my confessions here. Sometimes I make the kids a real ice-cream (eggs, cream, vanilla etc) and I am left with a bunch of egg whites. We can’t stand food waste so this recipe was born from necessity really. How lucky we are that this is actually one of my favourites to date! It is one of those recipes that even your non-healthy mates will love – there’s no difference in taste to friands you find in the café but you’re going to get all the goodness of whole food ingredients. Continue reading
Strawberry Smoothie Bliss Balls
You’ve got to love a little sweet snack sometimes. This recipe takes 10 minutes to make, for one month of handy goodness! This is a really great recipe to get young kids involved with, you probably won’t end up with 30 balls this way, but hey at least it’s all nourishing stuff. Continue reading
Raw Lemon Slice
This slice reminds of when I was younger and one of my friends mums made this really traditional lemon slice. It had a really Aussie vibe to it – biscuit base, probably crushed Arnotts biccies, and an icing sugar lemony topping. Sweet, sour and irresistible. Lately I kept thinking about this slice and was so eager to create my own version of it. Here it is, enjoy! Continue reading
Lemon Slice
I am obsessed with citrus desserts. I rarely have dessert or sweet things but when I do I just love a lemony treat! Or cheese. But that’s another story… I had been craving this type of slice for so long and couldn’t find out there what I was after – something free of gluten, refined sugar & grains and something that didn’t crumble. So I created it, and I know you are going to love it! ♥ Continue reading
Lime & Passionfruit Panna Cotta
I think everyone knows that I love citrus desserts by now! I like to keep it super easy so this one just has 5 ingredients and will take no more than 10 minutes to make. Throw in the gut healing qualities of grass fed gelatin and you have one fantastic dessert that’s great for kids, but also great for guests and entertaining. Continue reading
Chicken & Veg Pie
One of my first jobs as a teen was working in a bakery in town. I couldn’t handle the meat pies but was quite partial to a chicken and veg pie – with loads of sauce of course! It must be an Aussie thing. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) I have since found out what my body can tolerate and one of the definite no’s for me is gluten. Also I wanted a whole food, fresh, tasty option without the weirdo shortenings and additives AND I want to sneak in as much veg as humanly possible. Too much to ask for? I didn’t think so, so I created this family favourite beauty for you. Continue reading
